ClientShield ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of attorneys and their clients. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our platform.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when creating an account:

• Name, email address, and bar number
• Firm name and billing information
• Documents you upload for anonymization and analysis
• Research queries and chat history within the platform

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the ClientShield platform
• Process anonymization, AI analysis, and legal research requests
• Manage your account and subscription
• Send transactional communications (receipts, service updates)
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Document Privacy

Your legal documents are treated with the highest level of confidentiality. For Track A (Anonymize), documents are processed locally and PII is stripped before any external transmission. For Tracks B–D, documents are processed through Claude on Amazon Bedrock in a private VPC — your data never leaves your secure AWS environment and is never used for AI model training.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Documents and analysis data can be deleted at any time through the platform. Upon account termination, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — infrastructure, compute, and storage
• Amazon Bedrock — AI model inference (private VPC deployment)
• Stripe — payment processing (we never store your full card number)
• CourtListener — legal research data (queries contain no PII)

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. You may export your data or close your account through the platform settings. For data-related requests, contact us at privacy@clientshield.ai.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the platform. Your continued use of ClientShield after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
