By accessing or using ClientShield ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is intended for use by licensed attorneys and authorized legal professionals.
To use ClientShield, you must create an account with a valid email address and bar number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Accounts are individual and may not be shared.
ClientShield offers four subscription tiers (Tracks A–D) billed monthly per seat. A 5-day free trial of Track C is available to new users. Your card is required for identity verification during signup but is not charged until you select a subscription plan. You may cancel or change your plan at any time; changes take effect on the next billing cycle.
You agree to use ClientShield only for lawful purposes consistent with the practice of law. You may not:
You retain all rights to documents you upload. ClientShield does not claim ownership of your content. Our platform, including its design, code, and proprietary algorithms, remains our intellectual property. Case law data sourced from CourtListener and the Caselaw Access Project is licensed under CC0 1.0 and CC BY-ND 4.0 respectively.
ClientShield uses AI models to generate analysis and research summaries. While we validate citations against authoritative databases, AI-generated content should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before use in legal proceedings. ClientShield is a tool to assist legal professionals, not a substitute for professional legal judgment.
ClientShield is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated analysis or research results. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of ClientShield after changes constitutes acceptance.
